Who We Serve
Clients
- Our clients are typically 60 years and older with some exceptions. They live in Santa Clara County.
- They are unable to live independently, and may have cognitive and/or physical impairments including dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, depression, history of stroke, and other age-related illnesses.
- They are, however, able to participate in our activities, can feed themselves, are continent and able to use the bathroom with minor assistance. If in a wheelchair, they can bear weight.
Caregivers
- Live Oak Adult Day Care offers caregivers support and relief so that the caregiver can go to work, finish errands and other daily tasks while knowing that their loved one is well tended in a caring environment.
- Taking short term breaks can relieve stress, restore energy, and promote balance in a caregiver’s life.
- In addition, Live Oak Adult Day Care offers support groups, classes and other resources to help caregivers in their daily lives.
WE OFFER STIMULATING ACTIVITIES
We ensure that our clients have an opportunity to enjoy a variety of stimulating activities such as:
Adaptive physical exercise
Music programs
Arts & crafts projects
Discussions on current events, and times of reminiscing
Visits from many community volunteers of all ages.
WE OFFER A FRIENDLY AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT
Breakfast & a hot lunch served daily
Beverages and snacks throughout the day
Opportunity to socialize and make friends
Discussions on current events, and times of reminiscing
Respite and support services for caregiver
DEDICATED & CARING STAFF
Please note that a 1:5 staffing ratio is maintained at all Live Oak centers
* All staff must be at least 18 years old
* Obtain FBI/DOJ Fingerprint and Background Clearance
* Obtain a “Good” Health Screening
* Obtain Negative TB results
* Obtain/Maintain First Aid & CPR certification
* Excellent character references a must
* Show respect for and ability to treat participants with dignity
* Have at least one year of experience in providing care to dependent adults or degree in related field
* Must participate in all in-service training and certifications, as required by Community Care Licensing, State Food Program, Senior Nutrition Program, etc.
